A Research and Critical Study of Orientalists' doubts about the Islamic Theory of Jihad
اسلام کےنظریۂ جہاد پر مستشرقین کے شبہات کا تحقیقی و تنقیدی مطالعہ
Abstract
Islam is a religion of peace and security that teaches its followers to live harmoniously and promote well-being among all. The literal meaning of the word “Islam” is peace, which reflects the essence of tolerance, love, balance, moderation, and patience within its teachings. According to the Qur’an and Hadith, a true Muslim is someone who embodies sincerity and safety for all of humanity and is completely free from terrorism. However, Orientalists’ view the conflict between truth and falsehood through a biased perspective. They completely ignore the oppression of the disbelievers of Makkah, the betrayal of the Jews of Medina, and the destructive plans of the enemies of Islam. In contrast, they portray the Muslims' defensive actions in response to these threats as acts of cruelty. They mislabel the strategic missions sent by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to defend the state of Medina as raids or aggression. Moreover, they ignore the 13 years of persecution faced by the Muslims in Makah and describe the Muslims’ responses as provocative. They also overlook the exceptional kindness shown by Muslims towards the prisoners of the Battle of Badr, focusing instead on the isolated execution of two war criminals, using these cases to falsely accuse Islam of terrorism.
