The Role of Syed-e Hujver in Peaceful Coexistence
پُراَمن بقائے باہمی میں سیّد ِہجویرؒکا کردار
Abstract
Peaceful Coexistence is when people of diverse religions, nations, sects, and differing beliefs and ideologies live together in mutual tolerance and respect. It means upholding each other’s right to freedom of thought and expression, ensuring that no one denies another their right to life based on faith, and refraining from labeling others as kafir (infidel), mushrik (polytheist), gustakh (blasphemer), or bidati (heretic).
No patriot should brand another as anti-state or a traitor, no preacher or scholar should dismiss others as ignorant or bigoted, and no worshiper in one mosque should condemn those in another as unbelievers. Differences—whether religious, political, intellectual, or ideological—must be accepted as naturally as we accept diversity in thought and appearance.
Religion must never be weaponized for violence, extremism, terrorism, sectarianism, or hatred. Instead, people should live together in peace, security, and harmony. These principles must also guide international relations and national unity, resolving conflicts through dialogue and cooperation—not hostility. True Peaceful Coexistence lies in practicing these ideals.
